Located on a sloping terrain in a hot and humid coastal area, this project initially began with the material discipline of Fisherman House, but evolved over time with the rational structure and 'green roof' approach of Memo House, acquiring a unique form that integrates with the topography and offers a vertical circulation and flexible rental scenario.

Double House presents a structure that reflects the degrees of privacy and vertically stacked functional divisions within the interior through its transparent facade design between load-bearing side walls.

Based on the analysis of three different structures, this process combined Casa Gomez's brutalist mass logic, Fallingwater's layered terrace system, and Double House's zigzag circulation strategy into a single hybrid structure. This experimental work was an instructive synthesis process that allowed me to intuitively read the structural systems and organizational schemes of the buildings.

My project, shaped by the harsh climate and steep topography of Sille, is based on the intersection of water and land. Designed with a "Cleave through the Water" strategy, this work, which turns the slope into an advantage and consists of interconnected volumes, has been selected to be featured in the Mimed competition exhibition at Istanbul Technical University (ITU).

The Gwathmey Residence Analysis examines the form-structure relationship in a wooden structure built on an 8x9 grid, using subtraction and plug-in cylindrical jointing strategies.

For me, the Architecture History course was not just a chronology, but a journey to understand the thinking and evolution behind the buildings. I can now see the traces of past technical and cultural needs in today's architecture. Thanks to this course, I learned not only to observe buildings, but also to compare them, analyze them using technical language, and understand "why" they were built.

The freezing but exciting first field trip to Sille allowed the data on the map to be translated into real-world slope, texture, and spatial experience. Observations around the dam and the village, combined with texture library and cross-section studies, transformed into a challenging but enjoyable process that taught us to shape design through experience.

This trip taught me that architecture exists not only in buildings but also in the smallest details of daily life. What I saw in the Netherlands was the ability to build harmoniously with the modern while preserving history.
